Privacy Policy

Overview

Ace Citizenship ("we", "our", or "the app") is built to be private by default. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking services. This policy explains exactly what stays on your device, and what the small amount of anonymous diagnostic data we collect contains.

What Stays on Your Device

App preferences: your selected state, representative name, study language, theme, and sound/haptic settings are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults.
Study progress: your quiz history, streaks, and readiness statistics are stored locally and never uploaded.
Your voice: in speech practice, your spoken answers are transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio and transcripts are processed entirely on your device, are never saved, and never leave it.

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed with it.

Anonymous Diagnostics

The app sends a small set of anonymous usage events to our own diagnostics service (there is no third-party analytics SDK). You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy. These events contain:

Counts of feature use — for example "a practice set was completed" or "the paywall was shown". Never question content, never your answers.
Crash and hang diagnostics from Apple's MetricKit, to find and fix bugs.
App version, iOS version, and device family (such as "iPhone").
A random, anonymous install identifier that is created on your device, is tied to no account or personal detail, and resets if you reinstall the app.

Like any internet service, our infrastructure sees the network connection a request arrives on. We do not store IP addresses. Our servers record only the coarse, network-derived geography of the request (such as country and city) — never precise location, coordinates, or postal codes. The app itself never asks for or reads your device's location.

What We Do NOT Collect

No personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
No device location — the app never requests location access
No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking, no data brokers
No question answers, transcripts, or recordings

Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Third-Party Services

Ace Citizenship contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and displays no ads. Diagnostics described above go only to infrastructure we operate.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13, and is designed to be safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
